Apart from becoming a Professional Chef you now have a variety of  options to choose from, knowing all about food is not just limited to the term Chef anymore.

When you look at a beautiful and tempting pictures of food in a magazine or a cookery show, have you ever wondered how do they make food look so appealing? There comes the role of a food stylist. As the name suggests their job is to style the ‘ready-to-serve’ food at its best. A food stylist can make food look fresh for longer for photography purposes  with some tricks that they can apply as they know food in depth. They know to play with food and together with the right props they bring the best out of a plating done for a shoot. When it comes to money, food stylist is a pretty so is their pay.

This is a little different from other possible careers in the food industry. To be a food photographer you need to have knowledge in photography, which is a given fact. But again to capture food at its best is not every photographer’s cup of tea. You need to have a passion for food to excel in this field and more than passion if you also know about food well, it will definitely reflect in the pictures taken.  If one is confident enough, you can either work for an F&B Company as their official Food photographer or you could be a freelancer as well.

The idea of becoming an Entrepreneur after finishing your culinary education is not new to most of us. Although it requires a lot of patience and knowledge about the business aspects, there’s absolutely nothing more satisfying than working for yourself for a living.  If you have the money to invest in to a business like a bakery, a cafe or even a food production business from home for a startup, then these are a few ways one could go about as a beginning.  Again, if you think you have an entrepreneurial bent then this is a good  way to go.

This is something new to many as a career for a culinary graduate. Food write-ups used to be only a part of magazines or as a supplementary column in the earlier days. The write ups back then were too simple and straight to the point , quite formal so to say. But now, things have changed. Thanks to Internet, today we have blogs, websites and the print media too exclusively dedicated to food. If you know food and have some flair to write well , that’s all you need to become a food writer.


When you consider of join a culinary school, take all your interests and  also flair into consideration in addition to just cooking , as they could all lead you to a wonderful career ahead . The above are just a few ideas  but then  the actual possibilities are endless, considering what we are talking about  here is the food industry , which is never ever  going to go out of fashion,  as it is a daily necessity.
